Concrete stamping mold is a method of impressing an image into the surface of fresh concrete in order to decorate the plastic parts surface, or to permanently mark the concrete before it cures, relieving the dullness associated with a concrete slab or block. Sheet Metal Parts are available in a variety of designs, but you can create your own stamp by making a mold of the object you wish to stamp into the concrete's surface.
Step 1.Spread the clay in a 2-inch layer in the bottom of a plastic box with 4-inch walls and large enough to hold the model you're creating a stamp from. Form the clay into a 2-inch layer.
Step 2.Spray the stamp model with a thin layer of mold release agent, covering the entire surface of the model that will be pressed into your bed of clay. The mold release agent should form a barrier between the model and the clay, which allows you to smoothly pull the model from the clay leaving a clear impression that will serve as a mold for the stamp creation.
Step 3.Press the model into the face of the clay bed. Use a firm but steady pressure to sink the face of the model into the clay up to an inch deep, until a solid impression is made. Be careful not to wiggle the model--doing so will distort the impression.
Step 4.Remove the model from the clay bed, pulling it directly up from the newly created stamp mold.
Step 5.Mix the silicone rubber mold making material according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 6.Spray the clay surface and the sides of the plastic box with the mold release agent.
Step 7.Pour the silicone rubber mixture into the box, above the clay bed, starting at a corner. Pour the mixture evenly over the surface of the clay, then tap the sides of the box gently to force any bubbles that may have formed in the material to the surface of the rubber. The rubber layer should be one inch thick over the clay layer.
Step 8.Allow the rubber mixture to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions, hardening in the process. Once it's cured, remove the rubber from the box, peeling it from the clay. The newly created piece of rubber should now have the face of the stamp model protruding from its surface to serve as your new concrete stamping mold.
Step 9.To use the new mold, press it into the surface of fresh concrete and pull away, leaving an imprint behind in the concrete.
