Travellers trying to cross from Windsor, Ont., to Detroit are having difficulty getting onto the Ambassador Bridge because of a truck rollover plastic mold.
Traffic is down to one lane on Huron Church Road in the lead-up to the international border crossing precise plastic parts.
A tractor-trailer tipped over near the main entrance to the bridge at around 4:30 a.m. Monday. The truck smashed into a van then went off the road, dumping its load of stamping parts and spilling diesel fuel.
Emergency crews got the drivers out, and police told CBC News there were only minor injuries.
Windsor Police said the Toronto-area truck driver has been charged with careless driving.
Monday is a holiday on both sides of the border — Family Day in Ontario and President's Day in Michigan — so there is less commuter traffic than usual on the Ambassador Bridge.
Windsor police expected the cleanup to take several hours.
